Airtight Steel Drum

Our airtight steel drum uses a tight-head structure with threaded plug seals. The drum head and body are permanently joined through a double seam. You cannot open the head. This structure has fewer sealing points than open-top drums. The only movable seal is the threaded plug area. All other seals are permanent metal seals. For liquid materials that need long-term storage or long-distance transport, our airtight steel drum has lower leakage risk than open-top drums. The body wall thickness is not less than 0.9 millimeters. We use 2-inch and 3/4-inch twin threaded plugs. The gasket uses oil-resistant and aging-resistant rubber. It will not swell or harden from long-term contact with oil-based materials.

Our airtight steel drum passed the 20 to 30kPa air tightness test for 5 minutes. No leakage occurred. The double seam is complete with no cracks. The weld has no air holes or leaks. Our leak tester checks every tight-head drum after seaming. The tester uses compressed air to detect micro-leaks. Only drums that pass this test move to the next production stage. Our automatic seam welder produces continuous welds with no missed spots. This airtight steel drum has an outer anti-rust paint coating. It has no inner coating by default.
